Feeling Comfortable During a Boudoir Session

Apr 3, 2021

It’s likely that the idea of getting partially or even completely undressed in front of a stranger makes your anxiety go through the roof.

Hey, I don’t blame you. It’s a very intimate thing to do.

That being said, I can confidently say that you won’t feel nearly as uncomfortable as you may expect when it comes to a boudoir session with me. I have several steps I take to ensure that my clients are relaxed, at ease, and have built up trust with me by the time you’re stripping down to your undies!

I’d like to think that this process starts before we even communicate directly in my private, womxn-only Facebook community. I make sure that this is a safe space where our members can share their thoughts, feelings and opinions openly and without judgement. This includes me practicing total transparency and authenticity as well. I strive to share my grief, joy, struggles and success with the women here so they learn exactly who I am.

Once you’re ready to take the first step and we have our first phone consultation, we get to know each other even more. I ask you questions about yourself and your motives for wanting to participate in the experience; I also tell you more about me and my goals and expectations.

However, I think the in-person consultation is the “secret sauce” of why my clients enter their sessions feeling more relaxed. Meeting face-to-face, trying on outfits with my guidance, and generally just getting to know each other before your appointment is the backbone of a successful portrait session.

When you arrive the morning of your session, we have even more time together while you’re in hair and makeup to chat and connect. I typically see my clients dramatically relax and become generally more at ease once we begin shooting and I demonstrate the first few poses. The trust we have built goes a long way!

If you think you’d be too uncomfortable to take good photos in a boudoir session, request a short call with me. I promise I’ve never met a stranger. 😙
