Skin Care Tips by Melanie

When you book a boudoir portrait session, you’ll want to pay careful attention to your skin leading up to your session date to make sure you’re glowing! To help, I have some skin care tips courtesy of Melanie Fuller, Owner of Kiss and Makeup and one of my talented makeup artists!

Amazing makeup starts before the first drop of foundation is ever applied. It begins with great skin and proper skincare prep! That’s what gives you a perfect canvas for any makeup application.

Here are my secrets to glowing, gorgeous skin:

Step 1: Gently cleanse the skin. Oily and acne-prone skin need both AM/PM. Dry, dehydrated, aging and combination skin can focus on PM cleansing. Use a professional cleanser best suited to your skin type and conditions. A mild exfoliate can be included with the cleansing step 2-3 times weekly.

Step 2: Serum! Apply AM/PM. I love serums because of nanotechnology; they penetrate the skin on a cellular level and the active ingredients they contain are absorbed by the skin fast, making them highly effective.

Step 3: Moisturizer/SPF. I recommend using a moisturizing SPF 30+ in the morning and using a moisturizer that targets skin conditions such as aging, acne or sun damage in the evenings.

You can book a facial with a licensed esthetician like Melanie at Kiss and Makeup to see what skincare regiment is best for your skin type and conditions. (She also does my brows monthly and I love it!)

Happy skin care!
