Ms. M booked her boudoir session with me while she was on a work assignment here in Wilmington – she wanted the ultimate wedding gift to give to her partner this fall. How do you think your session went?
I had such a great time! I thought I would be a lot more nervous, but when Alisha and I got into the studio and it was just the two of us I felt so comfortable with her. I ended up loving more photos than I thought I would. I had the hardest time narrowing it down because she did such an amazing job making me feel beautiful through the pictures she took.
What was the best part of the experience for you?
I loved our time in the studio while we were laughing and joking around. My favorite thing though was the reveal at the end. I knew that I would probably like a few of the photos, but I had no idea how many of them I would end up loving. I’ve always struggled with feeling sexy and I felt so amazing during the reveal that I wanted to cry. I’ve never seen myself in that way, but I felt so empowered and beautiful at the end of it all.
Now that you’ve completed your session and seen your images, is there something that you would have liked to tell your pre-session self to do, not do, or not to worry about?
I was definitely a little nervous in the beginning, so I would have told myself to relax and be more confident in myself.
Would you change anything about the experience? If yes, what specifically? Is there anything we can improve?
I wouldn’t have changed a thing. We had a great time!
How would you rate your body confidence post-session on a scale from 1-10?

How do your photos make you feel empowered? Do they make you feel seen? Describe how you might see something in yourself you haven’t seen in awhile (if you feel that way).
My fiancé has always told me how sexy he thinks I am, but I’ve never felt that way. Doing this shoot really helped me see what he sees. I felt like I was truly seeing myself through others eyes and not seeing so many of the flaws that we all find in ourselves. I felt absolutely gorgeous and sexy at the end of it.
“Going into this process I had a general idea of what it would be like, but when I was done it was so much better than I thought it would be. I’ve never seen myself as sexy and my fiancé tells me I am even when I don’t see it. I wanted to do this in order to see myself more clearly without seeing all the flaws that we all see in ourselves. I ended up feeling so empowered and sexy by the end of our session that I will definitely do it again at some point. Alisha does an amazing job at making you feel comfortable. I ended up loving so many of the photos that I couldn’t narrow it down anymore and got a bigger package. I did it for myself, but also as a wedding gift for my fiancé. He had no idea what I had done that day, but he said whatever it was he was glad I did it. It definitely helped our relationship more than I realized it would.”
