Top 5 Boudoir Photography Outfit Ideas

I know one of the most challenging things for women to decide when they take the leap and book a boudoir portrait session is what they’re going to wear. Well, that’s what I’m here for!

Honestly, there are so many ways to show off your own style and personality without wearing exclusively what most people consider “lingerie”. Did you know the definition of lingerie in the dictionary is, “underwear, sleepwear, and other items of intimate apparel worn by women”? That makes it sound a lot less intimidating, amiright?!

Here are my top 5 favorite things that women wear to their boudoir session:

1. Teddys or bodysuits

These are versatile, flattering and come in SO many styles. You can get skimpy, lacy teddy or go for a more traditional bodysuit that could also be worn under jeans/shorts/a skirt later on!

2. Two-piece sets (athletic, skimpy, or otherwise)

I personally love the Calvin Klein look but also love to photograph the lacy stuff, too. Sets in gem tones like burgundy, emerald, navy or purple look AMAZING!

3. A white tank or t-shirt

It’s simple and sexy. A white tank or tee with nothing underneath is the ultimate display of comfortable, sexy femininity. You can also “dress” these up with fishnet tights and heels – another combo I LOVE! You can get these fitted, or get large (men’s) tanks or tees and we will knot them up.

4. Anything backless and/or strappy

DETAILS! When we’re getting those key shots of your back and booty, strappy and backless pieces just add to the image.

5. Nothing!

Ending your session comfortable, relaxed and in the sheets is a real way to let your beauty shine without any of the outfit details in the way. Flaunt that bod and skin!

Hopefully these give you some good ideas of where to start. To make the whole thing as fun and easy as possible for my clients, when you book a session with Atlantic Boudoir, you receive a link to a full “Wardrobe Guide” with even more ideas and where to shop, as well as have an in-person consultation and styling session with me!

Happy shopping! xoxo
